Before joining AzTE in January 2008, Tom Goodman was vice president of diagnostics at Valeo Medical where he directed the development of the company's immunoassay technology and oversaw their patent and licensing activities.

Prior to Valeo, Tom was a director at Research Corporation Technologies where he led the selection and evaluation process for new venture investments and was responsible for out-licensing numerous university technologies. Earlier he held a variety of management positions at Syntex Pharmaceuticals in their Syva Diagnostics division.

Tom received his Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and his M.B.A from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley. He has published 17 scientific papers and is an inventor on 11 issued U.S. patents.
