Romy Schlecht, a registered patent attorney, joined AzTE in February 2005. Prior to joining AzTE, Romy practiced law at Jennings, Strouss and Salmon, P.L.C. for more than five years as an associate in the Commercial Transactions Department, specializing in intellectual property, mergers and acquisitions, and commercial financing transactions. Romy has experience at Research Corporation Technologies, an independent technology development company, helping universities and research institutions worldwide to commercialize their early-stage technologies. She also worked as a technical supervisor in the immuno-diagnostic manufacturing division of a chemical manufacturing company and as a criminalist focusing on drug analysis in the controlled substance unit with the Arizona Department of Public Safety. Romy received her B.S.,
cum laude, in biochemistry, M.B.A., and J.D. from The University of Arizona. While in law school, she served as the Editor-in-Chief of the
Arizona Law Review.
